HARMONY DAY

On Friday 22nd March, Sirius College celebrated Harmony Day with a family picnic and a special assembly.

In the classrooms, students watched a Read Aloud story called “I am Australian too” and participated in an Art activity, decorating paper dolls in traditional clothing from different cultures.

Families came with food to share with their children and their classrooms. It was fantastic to see so many families enjoying this special day with their children. Students dressed up in their traditional clothing or wore orange for Harmony Day.

Throughout the week, students completed posters for Harmony Day. Winners were selected and they were presented with prizes at the assembly.

Kindness awards were also presented to one student from each class. These students demonstrated kindness, good behaviour, getting along with others and being a good role model for other students.

Students from various classes shared their background stories and how their families came to Australia. Students enjoyed showing their traditional clothing during a fashion parade to finish the assembly.
